a host of heaven’s angels

last night i had a close call
that threatened my survival
a panoply of angels serenaded my arrival

sang heavenly to music that was
mystical and healing

and i’ll admit

the sights and sounds

made staying there appealing
it was just like i pictured it

a choir arrayed in white
was interspersed among the clouds
that drew me to the light

a host of heaven’s angels

awaited my decline

but that was then

and this is now

and now i’m feeling fine

i’m glad to know

that when i go

that i will have a shot

if i am brave

and i behave

i hope they’ll save
my spot
