shallow waters

her name was Simplicity

something uncommon
not mary or daisy or jane
she was Nobody’s daughter
she disdained shallow waters
big dreams were entrenched in her brain
like her passion for romance
mathematics and science
and a whole host of other electives
unlike judith or janet her view of the planet
took on a most daunting perspective

her name was Simplicity
she was a rock star
like gwen, stevie, tina and chrissie
on a much smaller stage
like the words on a page
and she never was nearly as busy
