time to find a new abode

unpredictable
inhabitable
time to find a new abode
one that doesn’t
fall to pieces
and can pass

the building code
one weekend
the plumbing goes
the next week comes
the walls get mold
when we fix those
the lights go out
the floorboards snap
and seedlings sprout
talk about predicaments
this place, in spades, has got ’em
with trees up on the rooftop
and the rooftop on the bottom

this verse owes its very being to the Daily prompt – unpredictable
but it also wants to participate in the Daily prompt – tree
