some goodness got away

hatred walked into a bar
it stole some souls today
but i hold hope in all of us:
some goodness got away
some rescued
some risked
some got away
and i have to think
there’s more of us
than them

hatred walked into a bar
intent on senseless slaughter
and we learned something
about ourselves:

they were all
our sons and daughters

the victims the saviors
the escaped and the haters

they were all our sons and daughters

  1. spot on. evil exists and we all know that, but to beat it you have to help and love its victims. in this case its agent was insane, but then I believe all evil must be. thanks for lovely way to view an awful human tragedy. Judy’s adjective above is perfect. you’re generous.
